MICHELIN NORTH AMERICA SWITCHES TO THE LEARN.COM LEARNCENTER PLATFORM
SUNRISE, FL – June 24, 2008 -- Learn.com®, the leader in on-demand workforce development and productivity, announced today that Michelin North America, Inc., one of the world’s largest tire manufacturers, with headquarters in Greenville, SC, has switched to the LearnCenter platform in order to provide global human capital management tools throughout the extended enterprise.
"We needed to replace an obsolete learning management system and wanted the ability to offer computer-based training globally. The system we had did not offer the functionality required to reach our training objectives. We selected the LearnCenter platform because of its simplicity, flexibility, ease of use, and most importantly, it was a highly configurable solution," said David Barton, TEL Manager at Michelin North America.
"The LearnCenter platform empowers us to provide computer based training content and instructor-led training classes to our employees as well as our extensive dealer network. For our dealer training, the LearnCenter platform provides a unique look and feel because of its sub-portal creation capabilities. The LearnCenter platform enables scheduling, enrollments, assessments, reporting and more from one easy-to-access online portal," explained Barton. "We have also streamlined our efficiencies by integrating the LearnCenter platform with our Lotus Notes Mail software and plan to integrate with our PeopleSoft HR system."
"The most efficient and effective way to train a geographically dispersed user population is through a blended learning program. Computer based training and competency management will continue to be a part of our success using the LearnCenter platform," concluded Barton.
